The Glencar Collection

Although the Irish word for butterfly is féileacán (pronounced fell-er-kun), dealan-dé is a more ancient term for these delightful creatures in old Irish. The word also refers to the brightness or lightning of the Gods. That the butterfly shares the same name as the fire of the Gods must somehow indicate great magnitude. In Irish folklore, it was believed that butterflies could readily pass through the veil between this world and the magical realm. This butterfly necklace won't help you pass into the magical realm but it will make your feel very pretty..

Each piece is cast in sterling silver and is hand polished in Ireland. Before you receive it, it is hallmarked in the Assay office in Dublin Castle, Ireland. All deBláca Jewellery has our makers mark of MDB, which has been allocated and registered by the Assay office in Dublin, Ireland.
